Our Story

Adrienne's been remote for a decade, a consultant for nearly two, and leading remote teams for just as long. She’s built policies from scratch, scaled remote teams, and hired hundreds of people while managing $3M+ marketing budgets.

She calls Colorado home, where she wrangles two Catahoulas and keeps over 100 plants alive (mostly).

Adrienne doesn’t just talk about remote work, she lives it. She’s built and led remote teams across editorial, marketing, paid media, PR, compliance, analytics, and more. She knows what makes them thrive, what makes them fall apart, and how to create a work environment that actually works with no micromanaging, no chaos, no endless Slack pings.

She went fully remote in 2014 and never looked back. It just made sense. Talented people are everywhere, and in a digital-first world, there’s no reason companies should be chained to a single location.

Over the years, she’s written hundreds of job ads, reviewed thousands of applications, hired, onboarded, and trained entire teams, always with the goal of building ego-less, high-performing groups that get stuff done without burning out.

She’s learned the hard way so you don’t have to. If you're building a remote team from scratch or trying to make yours less chaotic, she’ll show you exactly how to do it, minus the corporate jargon and pointless meetings.

Been Remote is here to help others

If you’re a remote leader with stories to tell, lessons learned, or strategies that work, this is your space to share them. Writing here allows you to build your byline, connect with others who get remote work, and add your voice to the conversation.

Remote work isn’t one-size-fits-all. The more we share, the better we get.
