The best coffee cup is one that you love. That’s it. It doesn’t necessarily HAVE to keep things hot or cold for a long time unless you really want that. Me personally, I like my coffee lukewarm, so the faster it cools down, the better.

Plus you’ll need enough cups for the ebb and flow of the day, and the advantage of working from home is that you can have one for every mood. The big one that holds 3 cups’ worth, the one with the funny handle, the one that’s perfect for the afternoon iced pick me up.

My favorite mugs are those I’ve collected from friends, antique stores, fundraisers and garage sales. The ones that are one-of-a-kind, that fit in your hand perfectly, that remind you of a time and place… That makes the coffee taste better, in my opinion.
